How to Reduce Your Risk of Developing Oral Cancer with Regular Checkups

Oral cancer is the most common type of cancer in the mouth, throat, and voice box.

If you are worried about developing oral cancer, there are ways to reduce your risk. One way is to get a regular oral cancer screening. The American Cancer Society recommends that you have a screening at least once every three years if you are between the ages of 20 and 39. If you are over 40 years old, they recommend that you have a screening once every year.
